Barrington Primary School

"Supporting each other to achieve together"

As you are aware, the Government have announced that schools in England will close after Friday 20th March. This means that Barrington Primary school will be closed for all pupils from Monday 23rd March 2020 until advised otherwise.

Covid-19 is undoubtedly one of the greatest global challenges of our time and we in education must now also adopt unprecedented changes to our methods of working. The guidelines are clear that the closure of schools is there to limit the spread of the virus. With fewer children travelling to school, the risk of spreading the virus to vulnerable groups is fewer.

Fortunately, we have worked hard as a trust to maximise staff capacity and have put arrangements in place for the groups of eligible children to attend the Bedonwell Federation from Monday 23rd March e.g. key workers' children.  Those parents have been informed.

It is really important to note that, if children are able to stay at home safely they should do so, as the fewer children making the journey to school, and the fewer children in educational settings, the lower the risk that the virus can spread and infect vulnerable individuals in the wider society.
